The Laramie Project Showing and Discussion

The Laramie Project (running time: 1hr. 37 mins.) is a drama film written and directed by Moisás Kaufman. Based on The Laramie Project, a play by Kaufman, the film tells the story of the aftermath of the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming. It premiered at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival and was first broadcast on HBO in March 2002

A discussion of the film will be held after the showing.

Parking is available via the main entrance at 93 West Weisheimer Road and via the High Street entrance, adjacent to the Panera Bread at 4519 North High Street.

Additional parking is available at the Novak Funeral Home at 4476 North High Street

The Church is fully accessible to handicapped people. Assisted listening devices are readily available.

There is no charge for the movie or forum.

National Day of Silence

The National Day of Silence brings attention to anti-LGBT name-calling, bullying and harassment in schools. Each year the event has grown, now with hundreds of thousands of students coming together to encourage schools and classmates to address the problem of anti-LGBT behavior.

Self-Defense Course For Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay and Transgender People

  • Learn mental, verbal and physical self-defense skills.
  • Resistance to a physical attack provides a significantly greater chance of surviving without being raped.
  • This course is free and open to all LGBT people including non-student community members.

This class meets for 5 consecutive weeks, 2 hours each week.

International Gay Bowling Organization
2010 Tournament

May 26-31, 2010

The International Gay Bowling Organization will have their tournament here in Columbus on Memorial Day weekend in 2010. More than 700 bowlers from the United States and Canada are expected to participate in this exciting event.

IGBO was founded in 1980 and has grown to include the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. This will be the 30th anniversary of IGBO.

BRAVO is thirlled to be chosen by IGBO as one of the tournament's benefactors.
